Paper quilts.

Students were using pattern to create detailed paper quilts. They had the choice of whether they wanted to add color. 

Third graders were given an assignment to draw people in anyway they think of. This student chose to create an action shot of Spider-Man. 

Middle school pumpkins

Students were studying value with pumpkins and bananas.

5th grade was required to take a pretest seeing what they knew about portraits by drawing the Mona Lisa. 

Painting Landscapes

The first grade students spent one full day drawing out their landscapes and today Ms. Johnson's class was able to paint theirs.

They students were given the task to  use their imagination to create fish ponds. These are two fourth grade examples.

Optical Art

The 8th grade students did an optical art lesson a couple weeks ago that I wanted to share. They looked at how different artists distort lines and shapes to create the illusion of form and then made their optical illusion.

First grade Turtle Assignment

This was a work in progress for the turtle assignment the students had. They were creating their own turtle drawings.

This was one of the first projects of the semester. This is a seventh grade result.

Secret World of Arrietty

The middle school students were able to watch the studio ghibli film The Secret World of Arrietty and create artwork inspired by the movie. I wanted the students to see a more current film. This is a sixth grade work in progress.
