Welcome to a new school year. There are several updates and artwork to be added on the blog! The students are working very hard on long term projects this school year so it makes for an exciting one.

Playing Card Portraits

7th grade students are finishing up their cartoon playing card portraits where they had to adapt a cartoon character into a design after analyzing a playing card.
 

Colorful Lions

2nd and 3rd graders are finishing up their lion project. Here are a few results.

Kaleidoscope

7th grade students were able to use graphic design to create their own name kaleidoscope design. Here are some results. 

Colorful Zebras

1st grade and kindergarten are finishing up their colors zebras they have been working on. This was made using cereal boxes donated to the art room. 

Underwater tunnel

Students in 4th and 5th grade are finishing up their fish adaptation by making a underwater tunnel. Here are a couple examples.

7th was working with contour line drawings about giraffes and planned their own personal artwork. Here is one example.

Fish Adaptation

The 4th and 5th grade students constructed and designed their own fish craft that exemplifies it's adaptation. Here are a couple:
This is a puffer fish: Rainbow Hufer Pufer who adapts with his spikes.

This is Bat fish: the darkest fish of the night because of the dark light. Bat Fish Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Bat Fish. 

Glowy the Fish: It is good at playing hide and seek. She is good at making friends and going on adventures to the moon, other dimensions, and magical lands of unicorns and candy.

Fourth and fifth grade created bird crafts this week. Originally I intended for them to make one specific type of bird but it was more creative to let them take ownership of their own kind of bird. Here are some results

Tangled ribbons with Art club

The students in art club have been working on tangled ribbon drawings. This is one in progess. The next step for the progress is adding color to the background.

8th grade students communicated ideas about a career in art by manipulating the elements and principles to create an artwork.

Cat masks

Students are continuing making art with cats by creating cat masks this week. They are using their observations about cats to create a cat that has the important features but it also is creative.
