Field Day Face Painting

Last week selected seventh grade students participated in field day by doing Face Painting with materials provided by the Physical Education Department and Mirrors funded from Donorschoose.org. The students had a great time face painting. It taught them how to help others and how you can paint quickly.

Celestial Scenes

7th grade did an awesome job creating paintings of moons, stars, and swirls. I wanted them to get more practice with painting. They were a bit afraid at the beginning because the results could be different. I assured them they would do well and they did.

Fish Surprise

We extended the folding paper to create fish by creating fish surprises. Many of the students loved this lesson because it reminded them of the hand puppets. Students were able to create these drawings using a variety of materials. The students created different types of fish with a variety of suprised like eating, singing, having conversations with other fish.

Kaleidoscope Designs

I'm excited to share the kaleidoscope designs because there was a wide range of results where the students just want to keep looking at them. Having the value changes requirement within the work makes them pop so much.
I want to highlight a few.

The Mural is up!

I have to say it feels more like a collaborative piece than a mural but it's up and makes an impact! People keep talking about know the image changes with your distance to it. The students like how there are so many students involved in the project.
